We wrote this song for Xulhaz Mannan. While we were working on it, they attacked Holey and killed dozens. Today, as I was about to upload this, I realized it's the anniversary of Avijit Roy's murder.
We're all human. We live, we love, we die. There are those among us who give their love in the face of adversity, machetes, bullets. Maybe sacrifice is part of being human and so is hatred. We have plenty of both. The only thing we can do is to try to love more, accept more, share the magic of our lives. We are all born without sin, but sin sometimes finds us.
To Xulhaz. Faraz. Avijit. A thousand more.
lyrics
Beautiful boy
See, don't be seen
The fields are now thirsty
For red in their green
Beautiful boy
Keep your voice low
Don't sing the songs
You learned long ago
Ami bipod khujini
Bipod amaye khujecche
Beautiful boy
Shine like a star
You're not who you think
You're not who you are
Beautiful boy
They're at the door
You once were an angel
Now you're no more
Ami bipod khujini
Bipod amaye khujecche
I never went looking for sorrow
